TagFast ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use the TagFast Chrome extension and related services.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Profile Interaction Data
When you use TagFast to mark profiles as "seen," we collect and store:
- Profile URLs from social media platforms (LinkedIn, X/Twitter, Reddit, YouTube, and other websites)
- Notes you add to profiles
- Status labels you assign (Pending, Rejected, Contacted, Follow-up, etc.)
- Timestamps of when profiles were marked
- Website metadata (titles, descriptions) extracted from visited pages
1.2 Account Information (Optional)
If you choose to enable cloud sync or team sharing features, we collect:
- Email address
1.3 Usage Information
We may collect anonymous usage statistics to improve TagFast, including:
- Extension version
- Browser type and version
- Feature usage patterns (anonymized)
2. How We Store Your Data
2.1 Local Storage (Default)
By default, all your profile interaction data is stored locally in your browser's local storage. This means:
- Your data never leaves your device
- We have no access to your locally stored information
- Data persists only on the browser where TagFast is installed
- Uninstalling the extension or clearing browser data will delete all local records
2.2 Cloud Sync (Optional)
If you enable cloud sync, your profile data is encrypted and stored on our secure servers, allowing you to:
- Access your data across multiple devices
- Prevent data loss if you switch browsers or devices
- Share data with team members (if team sharing is enabled)
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information to:
- Provide core functionality of marking and tracking profiles
- Sync your data across devices (if enabled)
- Enable team collaboration features (if enabled)
- Improve and optimize the extension
- Provide customer support
- Send important service updates and notifications
- Process payments for premium features
- Prevent fraud and abuse
4. How We Share Your Information
4.1 Team Sharing
If you enable team sharing, your profile interaction data will be shared with team members you explicitly invite. Team members can see which profiles have been marked as seen and associated notes/labels.
4.2 Service Providers
We work with trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating TagFast:
- Cloud hosting providers (for data storage and sync)
- Payment processors (for handling subscriptions)
- Authentication services (for secure login)
- Analytics providers (for anonymized usage statistics)
These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and use it only for the purposes we specify.
4.3 Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government regulation, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to:

4.4 We Never Sell Your Data

6. Data Retention
Local Storage: Data stored locally persists until you manually delete it or uninstall the extension.
Cloud Storage: If you use cloud sync, we retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or regulatory purposes.
7. Your Rights and Choices
7.1 Access and Update
You can access and update your profile data at any time through the TagFast extension interface. You can modify notes, labels, and delete individual profile records.
7.2 Data Export
You can export all your profile data to CSV format at any time through the extension's statistics page.
7.3 Data Deletion
You can delete your data in the following ways:
- Delete individual profile records through the extension
- Clear all local data through browser settings
- Delete your cloud account (if using cloud sync), which will remove all associated data from our servers
7.4 Opt-Out of Cloud Sync
Cloud sync is optional. You can disable it at any time through the extension settings. Disabling cloud sync will not delete your local data.
7.5 GDPR Rights (EU Users)
If you are located in the European Union, you have additional rights under GDPR:
- Right to access your personal data
- Right to rectification of inaccurate data
- Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten")
- Right to restrict processing
- Right to data portability
- Right to object to processing
- Right to withdraw consent
8. Chrome Extension Permissions
TagFast requires certain Chrome permissions to function:
- activeTab: To detect the current page URL and add the "Mark as Seen" button
- storage: To save your profile data locally in the browser
- scripting: To inject the "Mark as Seen" button on web pages
- host permissions: To scrape metadata from visited pages
We only request the minimum permissions necessary for TagFast to function and do not access any data beyond what is required for the extension's core features.
9. Children's Privacy
TagFast is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete such information promptly.
10. International Data Transfers
If you use cloud sync, your data may be transferred to and stored on servers located outside your country of residence. We ensure that such transfers comply with applicable data protection laws and implement appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We will notify you of material changes by:
- Posting the updated policy on our website
- Updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy
- Sending an email notification (if you have an account with us)
Your continued use of TagFast after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
